Description:
This unique site sits on the very edge of the Wild Atlantic Way in West Clare. The garden design was dedicated to optimising the amazing 180 degree views over the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands.
Two separate patio areas offer the client the option of morning or evening sun. The main patio area opens off the kitchen while the second smaller one is off the master suite. We added a private putting green as the owner is a keen golfer, this enjoys one of the most iconic views on the site, right over Liscannor Bay to the Cliffs of Moher which was developed by a cut and fill exercise carried out on the overlooking land directly opposite which was heavily overgrown and blocking the view initially. This sloped area was then reseeded as a biodiverse wildflower meadow.
A geogrid driveway system ensures little or no gravel migration framed by footpaths of grey limestone with black limestone edging. A selection of evergreen seasonally flowering shrubs and herbaceous seaside tolerant plants provide interest on the beds and a large weeping cedar tree frames the entrance way.
